The CNRS Office for the USA and Canada in Washington, D.C., covers all the domains of the research organization, from social and life sciences to hard sciences. The projects and activities of the Office are based on the thematic priorities of the 2006 CNRS strategic plan (life sciences, technology and computer sciences, nanoscience and nanomaterials, astrophysics).
Inserm reinforces scientific relations between the United States and France by pursuing three objectives : assuring an institutional presence for French scientists in the United States, strengthening scientific collaborations and giving them an institutional backing, and developing a process for the reciprocal relay of information between France and the United States.
CNES has long wished to bolster relations with NASA and diverse institutional and industrial players in the American space sector by establishing a permanent office in the United States. This office exists within the Office of Science and Technology at the Embassy of France.
