Fulbright program

As part of the Fulbright program, the Franco-American Commission for Educational Exchange has launched three regional research grant programs with Aquitaine, Nord-Pas de Calais and Alsace. It also signed a partnership with the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Cachan for masters and PhD-level study and research grants.

These programs are for U.S. associate, assistant and full professors.

Participating institutions and eligible fields are listed in the documents below.

Length of the grant depends on the region: between 2 and 9 months for Aquitaine, 6 and 12 months for Nord-Pas de Calais and a maximum of 12 months for Alsace.

Partnership with Ecole Normale Supérieure de Cachan Retour à la table des matières

This program is for U.S. graduating college seniors, masters and PhD-level candidates.

Fields are hard sciences, social sciences, humanities, management and technology.

Grants are awarded for a minimum period of six months and a maximum period of twelve months.

Benefits are: monthly stipend, full tuition waiver and access to language instruction if needed from ENS de Cachan, travel allowance and health insurance from the Fulbright program.

How to apply:

Interested applicants should first contact the department head or laboratory director in their respective fields to present their research or study project and subsequently obtain affiliation.

Language requirement: An excellent knowledge of French is required for all candidates interested in following coursework. A basic knowledge of French may be sufficient for candidates proposing research projects.

Once you have completed this initial step, you and your institutional correspondent must contact the director of International Affairs at ENS de Cachan, Ms. Bogdana Savu-Neuville at sri ens-cachan.fr, in order to finalize your affiliation and then proceed with the application process at ENS de Cachan, interro_liens_callback.

Proof of this affiliation must be submitted with the Fulbright application to the Institute of International Education before the application deadline. Please check the Institute of International Education’s website for the deadline: www.iie.org.

The grant is awarded to candidates whose two applications have been selected by 1) Fulbright (Institute of International Education and Franco-American Commission) and 2) ENS de Cachan.
