Alan Mathison Turing, born on June 23, 1912, was an English mathematician, logician, cryptanalyst, and computer scientist. He was highly influential in the development of computer science, providing a formalisation of the concepts of "algorithm" and "computation" with the Turing machine, which played a significant role in the creation of the modern computer. Turing is widely considered to be the father of computer science and artificial intelligence.
In honor of his 100th birthday, the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) has released the film Le modèle Turing celebrating his life and work. You can watch an excerpt of the film below (in French) and view more information on the film at: http://videotheque.cnrs.fr/doc=2975
