Before you click on the link below, make sure that you have all of the following materials on hand:
  • Personal/ Contact Information
  • List of Publications
  • List of Past Fellowships received
  • List of Degrees received, place and date
  • List of other Fellowships for which you are applying
  • 10-line summary of research in U.S.
  • 10-line summary of research in France
  • 3-5 page description (to be attached as a PDF document or included as a Microsoft Word document) of research project in U.S.
  • 3-5 page description (to be attached as a PDF document or included as a Microsoft Word document) of research proposal for France
  • Contact information for host laboratory
  • If your application is linked to a French-American collaboration that is supported by the Office for Science and Technology of the Embassy of France in the USA, the name of the Attaché for Science and Technology who is in charge of the program.


STEP TWO: apply online
When you first log on to the application you will be given a user ID. Please make sure to note the ID so that you can return to your application if you wish to before your final submission.

STEP THREE: send documents
  • Transcripts - an official copy sent directly from every university that you have attended
  • Letters of Recommendation - THREE signed and sealed letters from professors who are familiar with your work
  • Letter of Invitation - a letter from the laboratory in France including a confirmation of their intention to host you and the name of the project that you will be working on together
  • Proof of US Citizenship - any document which certifies that you are a US citizen
