Who?
We support entrepreneurs residing in the United States who are considering or currently setting up a technology venture and intend to expand their activity into France and Europe in the short- or medium-term. There are no age or nationality restrictions.
What?
Projects may vary from those in the ‘exploratory’ early stages, i.e. requiring development, to those at an advanced ‘implementation’ stage and thus much closer to creating an actual company. To be accepted into the YEi program, the ultimate goal of any project must to start a technology company or R&D laboratory in France or a French territory.
The key criteria for project assessment are:
motivation to start a technology company in France
project maturity
level of excellence
How?
Step 1 - Submit your project online at http://www.france-science.org/innovation/yei/. using the application guidelines. The new 09 call for project is opened.
Step 2 - YEi teams in the US will contact you to schedule an initial interview. The purpose of the interview is to assess whether YEi is appropriate for the project and how YEi will best be able to help the project meet its goals. - Our partners are bound by a strict confidentiality agreement concerning all information disclosed by YEi candidates. Read the rules before applying.
Step 3 – A preselection of the best projects will be performed by december 8, 2008
Step 4: Finalists will be coached to form contacts in France. The final selection will be performed on January 30, 2009, by a business and scientific committee composed of entrepreneurs and members of our French partner institutions.
Step 5 : Candidates accepted into the program will be coached to help them start a technology company in France. Successful projects will also benefit from organized business trips to France to help build a network of partners and increase their chance of success
