How to Apply?

One shop stop

YEi invites US resident entrepreneurs (no matter citizenship nor age…) who are starting or have recently started high-tech ventures with international appeal to participate in its annual competition. The French Embassy Office for Science and Technology and top innovation network partners in France will provide selected candidates with a valuable opportunity to meet potential business partners in France along with ongoing coaching and mentoring.

CRITERIA

The key criteria for evaluation are:
- The level of interest in setting up operations in France
- How far along the venture or underlying idea is in development
- The overall quality and appeal of the venture

HOW TO APPLY ?

1. Carefully read the rules of the call for proposals
2. Click on Apply and fill out the application online, including the Project Description form, and the non-confidential patents and publications related to your project. Applications without the Project Description form filled out will not be considered. Applications must be submitted before November 29th, 2009 12am ET.

WHAT’S NEXT ?

  • Step 1: The US based YEi team will contact you to schedule an initial interview, the purpose of which is to assess whether YEi is an appropriate channel for the project and how YEi can help you meet your goals. Again, please review the rules under “how to apply” on the YEi website before submitting your application.
  • Step 2: Prepare for a potential meeting with the YEi experts committee in Boston or San Francisco, ending with the pre-selection of finalists. Expert committees are made up of business and scientific experts, entrepreneurs and partner institutions. The candidates might receive a request to participate to one of below:
    - Boston: December 11th (IT, environment, other) and 14th (life sciences)
    - San Francisco: December 16 & 17th
  • Step 3: A final selection will be announced by the end of January in Paris. Finalists will be notified at that time.
  • Step 4: The winning candidates will be coached in order to help them start an innovative company in France. Successful candidates will also receive an organized business trip to France in the first year following their selection in order to help them build a network of partners, accelerate their launches and increase their chances of success.
