Student, researcher, and businessperson exchanges are a fundamental element in scientific and technological cooperation. They form the basis for collaborations and long-lasting bilateral research partnerships.

  • Fulbright Research Grants to France 2020-2021: call for applications

    The Fulbright Commission provides grants to French and American students (graduate and post-graduate levels), young professionals, and scholars wishing to expand their educational experience during a year in the host country. Besides the general program, there are 3 regional (Grand Est; Nouvelle Aquitaine; Haut de France).

  • The Chateaubriand Fellowship

    The Chateaubriand Fellowship in Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM), offered by the Embassy of France in the United States, Office for Science and Technology (OST), aims to initiate or reinforce collaborations, partnerships or joint projects by encouraging exchange at the doctoral level.

  • European Funding opportunities

    Horizon 2020 is a new funding framework that brings together all existing EU-level programs that support research and innovation to ensure scientific excellence; boost industrial leadership and competitiveness; and tackle societal challenges. Between 2014 and 2020, a proposed €80 billion will be provided under the Horizon 2020 framework to research institutions, universities, innovative private companies, and small businesses.

  • Fulbright Research Grants to France

    The Franco-American Fulbright Commission, created by the Department of Foreign Affairs and the U.S. Department of State and co-funded by the two governments, has been managing the Fulbright program between France and the United States for over 70 years. Two of its alumni were awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics (Kip Thorne) and the Nobel Prize in Medicine (Michael Rosbash) in 2017. Many other researchers have developed very successful bilateral cooperations through Fulbright stays.

  • Eiffel scholarships

    The French Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs launched the Eiffel excellence scholarship programme in January 1999 to support French centres of higher education in their international outreach initiatives, to attract elite overseas students on master’s, engineering and PhD courses.
