Call for a new Research Laboratory Leader, Clermont-Ferrand, France

The Laboratory of Genetics, Reproduction and Development (GReD) wishes its new director, starting in january 2021.

The GReD (Laboratory of Genetics, Reproduction and Development) is supported by the UCA (Université Clermont Auvergne), the CNRS (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique) and the INSERM (Institut National de la Santé et de la Recherche Médicale). The center is composed of 14 research groups (in total 150 people) and is situated on the campus of the Faculty of Medicine in a new building, which provides an exceptional research environment and space for new teams.

The research interests of the GReD teams fall within three domains: i) Genome dynamics and epigenetic control; ii) Reproduction and development in health and disease; iii) Endocrinology, signaling and cancer. The GReD provides also an attractive multi-model environment with plants, invertebrates and mammals that favor synergistic discussions and in-house interactions.

The director will be supported by a deputy director. He will work closely with a board formed by the 14 team leaders. The board will define the scientific strategy of the institute and will manages the resources allocated by the CNRS, INSERM and by the university. On a daily bases, the director will be assisted by an administrative assistant.

The director should be a CNRS or INSERM tenured researcher or a professor from a French university. His mission will start on January 1st 2021, for a five year contract, renewable once. The nominee will help the laboratory to design its research policy as soon as 2019.
