The INSERM office in the US and the Office for Science and Technology at the French Consulate in Los Angeles organized with the help of it’s offices in San Francisco and Boston, the visit of Professor Jean-Marc Egly, special advisor to the CEO of INSERM -Professor André Syrota-. The visit took place in the US from April 28th to May 1st 2014. Prof. Egly gave a series of seminars in American universities and research centers in order to introduce INSERM and the career opportunities it offers in France.
The objective of Prof. Egly’s American tour was to present, to young researchers working in the US (notably French Post docs) the career opportunities in France in the area of Life Sciences focusing on the "ATIP-AVENIR" program that he co-directs with Prof. André le Bivic at the CNRS (National Center for Scientific Research). This program allows young researchers to put together and lead a team within a research structure affiliated with Inserm or the CNRS. His vocation was also to promote mobility and to attract to laboratories top young research team leaders.
The seminar called "Life Sciences Research Career Opportunities in France" (given in English) took place on the West and East coast:
